According to sources, two were killed in a head-on collision between two large crane trucks early Thursday morning on Highway 16, 12 miles east of Zapata. Mr. Daniel Lee Alvarez of Kingsville, was pronounced dead at the scene and the other driver in the collision, Adolfo Perez of Alto Bonito, was taken from the scene where he soon after died due to his extensive injuries. according to local police, both trucks were completely demolished. It is possible that one of the drivers may have fallen asleep and veered across the road.
