Oilfield Worker Killed In Accident in Oklahoma
Oklahoma Oilfield Accident
Authorities in Oklahoma say an oil-field worker was killed in an accident at a well site near Piedmont in Canadian County, Oklahoma. According to Piedmont police Sergeant Jerry Goodwin, three employees of Southwest Oilfield Construction were working to pull piping out when a pipe strand snagged a piece of the oil rig and struck the platform where the men were working. He says the oilfield workers were launched into the air and falling debris crushed one of the workers after he fell to the ground.Goodwin says that one worker died at the scene and another worker was flown by medical helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he's listed in critical condition. The third man was taken to Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City and is listed in good condition. [August 23, 2007 ]
